I set up Fidem Foundation in 2018 primarily because I saw that vulnerable people across Malta and Gozo were constantly marginalised. The gulf between rich and poor was only continuing to widen. With many people prioritising the pursuit of wealth and power above all else and little help available for those who really needed it.

Since then, Fidem has worked to provide vulnerable participants with educational and empowerment opportunities, increasing their self-confidence and enabling them to pursue their life goals.

Our team of volunteers works with a network of professionals to help mainly women and adolescent girls overcome life’s adversities and unlock their true potential. We not only help them access life-changing educational courses and training but also ensure their mental wellbeing is taken care of.

Through our “Educate to Empower” programme we have helped numerous women and girls train in a variety of fields including accountancy, computer literacy, management, beauty therapy or seeing them through sixth form. It gives us tremendous satisfaction to see women thrive and succeed with Fidem’s assistance and support.

Fidem’s work continues apace. Every day brings new requests from shelters or other organisations to help women in difficult situations. Our commitment to the core values on which Fidem was founded remains unwavering. Our team works tirelessly to ensure all individuals who reach out to us are offered the best possible assistance and support. This requires time, effort, energy, empathy and of course resources. Our generous sponsors and supporters help us realise our service users’ dreams.
